The purpose of the Development Office is to promote the Mission of the Oratory Schools and to preserve Catholic Education for the 21st century. Development offers a long-range term solution for a school’s financial stability in the future. It also serves to “market the schools” and to increase support for the school system within the school and civic population. Efforts will focus on receiving large private and grant donations on a consistent annual basis, with programs and plans outlined for the next 5-10 years. Together with the Governance Board, the administration, parents and members of the development committee, this year’s goal is to obtain the necessary monies to build additional classrooms on the school owned property on Moore road. The future of our schools cannot continue without an established development office and program.

The Scanlan Foundation from Houston, Texas has awarded the Athenæum for University Preparation with $30,000 grant for the purchase of some furniture and equipment for the Ceasar Baronius Library being built as part of our Main Building, now under construction (photo below). Others wishing to make a private donation for the purchase of new library books, equipment, or furniture, may do so by contacting President, G. Yvonne at the Corporate Office at 781-3056.
Building for the Future
To accommodate new enrollees and the growing interest in our preparatory program, the Oratory Schools will be building a new complex on the corner of Moore and Jackson Roads. This new development will consist of 20 classrooms, specialty rooms and labs, cafeteria, and a library/media center. The addition will expand the existing site of 16 classrooms, a pavilion, and corporate offices housed on the northwest corner of Moore Rd. Construction is scheduled to begin during the spring semester of 2006. This multi-million dollar complex will serve Valley families along the border seeking a private Christian elementary and secondary education with an emphasis on academics, discipline, leadership, community service, and spiritual formation. For information or a visit to our campuses, come by the Corporate Office on 1407 W. Moore Rd. in Pharr, or call 781-3056.
