On Friday, August 29, 2008, all the schools within the Diocese of Brownsville shared a Eucharistic Celebration to appropriately begin the 2008-09 school year. This annual in-service took place at Our Lady of Sorrows Church (liturgy) and school gymnasium (in-service). The theme this year was "How beautiful are the footsteps of those who bring the good news." Both Msgr. Rev. Gustavo Barrera and our very own Rev. Mario Avilés celebrated mass on this special occasion. It was the perfect way to begin the school year, as we are reminded of the values and mission of the Catholic school ministry placing God first in our lives and in our classrooms.
