Parents & Educators Networking in the Spirit (PENS)

Library Volunteers Needed

Librarian Fr. Juan and his assistants, Brother Nilton and seminarian Dominic, are making an all out call for parent volunteers to help in the Cesare Baronio Library. Come dressed comfortably and give Fr. Juan a call or come by to make an appointment to schedule some much needed assistance.

Message to Prospective Volunteers

PENS Teams are an opportunity to serve in ways that can make a difference and help teachers and parents work in partnership to further the mission and goals of the Oratory Schools.

The Future of Catholic Education is in Our Hands

In giving life to our children, “parents have a most serious obligation and enjoy the right to educate them; therefore, Christian parents are especially to care for the Christian education of their children according to the teachings handed on by the Church.” (Canon 226)

PENS Procedures

All members of “Parents & Educators Networking in the Spirit”, are part of a volunteer group. Individuals may serve on one or more crews/teams. A full school-year commitment is required for each project to bear fruit. There is an element of sacrifice involved in that efforts are required to organize meetings and coordinate tasks. The first team meetings are to be scheduled by your contact or chairperson. Each team will then determine their calenda of events and necessary meetings. The contact or chairs of each team should meet at least twice a semester (about every three weeks) to coordinate their school wide efforts among the Moore and Ironwood campuses. Each PENS team meeting will begin with a prayer. The objectives should be clear, with an agenda of no more tha 45 minutes prepared.
